A New Belt

From 5/31 to 6/3 I went to Karate "Gassyuku." The term "Gassyuku" means a couple days hard training in Japanese. Since I wanted to obtain a new belt and get promotion to the next level, I had to join it. Actually, I was really looking forward to it because I was just curious what American people would do in "Gassyuku" and wanted to compare American "Gassyuku" with the Japanese one.

As to "Gassyuku," it was terribly hard unexpectedly. Honestly, I had never experienced such hard training before. We Karate members had to wake up at 5:30am and join a morning workout everyday. It was the most annoying thing in "Gassyuku" because sleep is the most necessary matter for me!

Needless to say, we worked out hard everyday... no, instructors forced us to work out hard... this is correct. I really regretted applying for "Gassyuku" and paying money.

On the last day, we had a test to get a new belt, and I managed to pass it although my body could not move smoothly because of horrible muscle pains. Then, I was very glad that everyone passed the test.

At first, I was going to take pictures to put them on my blog, but "Gassyuku" was too tough to remember it. I do not want to attend "Gassyuku" again since it is terrible! Fortunately, I am going to go back to Japan this December, so I do not have to worry about it. However, joining "Gassyuku" was good experience for me. Now I have a green belt! Yeah!
